Refund policy

The Museum of Dufferin shop includes goods and services including gift shop items, made-to-order, consignment products (art exhibition sales and the Holiday Treasures Arts & Crafts Sale), and donations. Due to the nature of the items we sell, requests for return are dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

Exceptions & Return Process

An order may be eligible for return and refund if it is defective or the incorrect item was received. If an item is defective or incorrect, it may be exchanged for an identical or similar item. These issues are handled on a case-by-case basis.

Please inspect your order upon receipt. If you would like to initiate a return, you can contact us at modsales@dufferinmuseum.com or visit the Museum of Dufferin (936029 Airport Road) during open hours within 30 days of purchase to request a return.

To be eligible for a return:

  • Your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging.
  • You will also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
  • If requesting a return by email, please include a clear picture showing the defect or issue. This will assist us in processing your request.

If there is an issue with your order, please send an email with images of the issue or defect to modsales@dufferinmuseum.com. We will address these on a case-by-case basis and will try our best to work towards a satisfactory solution.

Non-returnable items 

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on donations, sale items or gift cards.

Used or worn items are not eligible for return. In addition, certain types of items cannot be returned. These items include perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as soaps and beauty products).

Exchanges

The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item. Some items in our shop are only available in limited quantities or are unique (one-of-a-kind) and therefore may not be exchangeable. However, a similar item may be available.

Refunds

After a return is approved, a full refund will be issued on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

If an item is exchanged for an item of less or greater value, you will be refunded or charged on your original payment method accordingly.
