This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from dufferinmuseum.shop (the “Site”).

How Do We Use Your Personal Information?
We use the order information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this information to:
- Communicate with you; and
- Screen our order for potential risk or fraud.
If you are purchasing a membership, personal information included in your order will be used for ongoing communications to members (newsletters, emails, notice of promotions and advance ticket sales, renewal notification, etc.)
We use the device information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).
Sharing Your Personal Information
Your personal information may be shared with the following third parties as part of the standard operation of the Site:

We may also disclose your personal information
- For law enforcement purposes;
- For purposes of acting in emergency situations affecting the health and safety of an individual; and
- As otherwise authorized or required by law.
Your Rights
The collection, use and disclosure of your personal information is regulated by the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
You may request access to or request a correction of your personal information. To make a freedom of information request relating to the personal information we hold about you or to request a correction to your personal information, please contact the Information Management Coordinator.
If you believe that your personal information has been used for a purpose outside of this policy or that your privacy has been breached, you may make a complaint to the Information Management Coordinator. Complaints are investigated on a confidential basis.
Individuals also have the right to make a formal complaint to the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario regarding a privacy breach.
Data Retention
Information we collect to fulfill orders place through the Site is kept in accordance with County of Dufferin By-Law 2017-12 – Records Retention.
Changes
We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
